Description: A throwback to one of the original Last Best Cocktails using First Love and Saskatoon Berries.
Glassware: Rocks with Big Ice Cube
Ingredients:
1.25oz First Love Gin
0.75oz Cynar
0.5oz Saskatoon Berry Syrup*
*1 cup Sugar
*1 cup Water
* 1 cup Frozen Saskatoon Berries
Garnish: Fresh Orange Swath
1. Measure and pour all ingredients into rocks glass
2. Add big ice cube
3. Stir with mixing spoon to serving level
4. Garnish with orange swath expressing oils into drink
Saskatoon Berry Syrup
Add one cup of frozen Saskatoon berries per one cup of sugar, and one cup of water. Add sugar and water to small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Stir until fruit begins to break down and sugar is dissolved. Let cool, strain out the fruit using a fine mesh strainer, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid. Keeps for about a month if refrigerated.
